Adult Life - By Kenneth Mwesigwa (Hope Education Network)Did you remember to give hope to someone facing challenges? Do not lose hope if your life has been scattered by many challenges. Now take time to muse about your childhood. Recall the days when you had excessive time to play, eat and sleep like any other child does. This is the cycle of a childs life. If you doubt, take time to observe and possibly meditate on this truth. The next stage in life involves eating, going to school, playing then sleeping. A child is not bothered by the responsibility of thinking about the source of food, the funds for going to school, the house to live in or paying the electricity and water bills. Not even the clothes to wear or toys to play with. He is not bothered by any challenge; he simply asks daddy & mummy to provide and expects them to take care. However, as a person grows, the responsibility to take care of himself and others, grows. He is going to search for his own food, clothing, shelter, tuition fees and take care of other peoples needs as well. This is what makes life a challenge. Life is rarely a smooth journey but can be enjoyable. Life without challenges produces immature people. Challenges help us to grow. Do not yield to pressure, do not yield to worry, do not yield to lamentations. We implore you to rejoice, be peaceful and remain still in your heart amidst troubles: build courage to stay on course which is otherwise known as perseverance. Progressive businessmen tend to have long stories of failures that make them grow by combining strength and courage. Successful parents tell of pains that they had to endure to bring up their children. Great men and women are tested by the constant fires they go through for them to be purified. Joshua and Caleb were prepared to fight stinging bees in order to eat of the honey and they were willing to persevere by looking after the cattle in order to drink of the milk in the land that flows with milk and honey. The other 10 with whom they went to spy the Promised Land abandoned the mission and got lost in the desert: a land of lack. The fruit of perseverance is discipline which is otherwise known as character.(Romans5v4). Steady character composed of upright attitudes, faithfulness and integrity of heart results in hope that you will overcome. And Hope does not disappoint us.(Romans5v3-5) Your heavenly Father loves you so much, cares for your personal, family, ministry and business needs and fully provides for them BUT He allows challenges to come your way because He also desires that you become mature and complete not lacking anything.(James1v2-4) Next time you face troubles, problems, challenges, or whatever name you call them, stop and smile a bit. Drink a glass of water and muse over a cup of tea, coffee, cocoa or chocolate and ask God for wisdom to overcome what is before you. Does it sound like it is the reality of Adult life? (James1v5-8). There are no short cuts to adult life; it is full of challenges which demand deep wisdom to overcome. Aha!
